The Ritme is a 15% Alc. Red wine elaborated by Ritme Celler winery in the East Spain area of La Vilella Alta (Tarragona) in the D.O.Q. Priorat Appellation. Ritme is a a red wine elaborated from a blend of 70% Carignain and 30% red Grenache grapes, the two most typical and representative red grapes from the area. Grapes are grown in own and other from partners vineyards, placed around the appellation, from 300 to 650 m over sea level, on “licorella” (crumbled slate), from 20 to 80 years old vines and under a Mediterranean – continental climate, with warm summers, frozen winters and low rains. Wine harvest is handmade and grapes are shortly carried to the winery, where they’re selected and moved to stainless steel tanks, to be macerated and fermented during around 15 days. After, grapes are pressed and wine is moved to French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation is performed. Later, wine is newly moved to new and one wine French oak barrels, where it remains during 10 months before being bottled with no filtering or clarification.
VIEW: The Ritme has an intense red cherry colour, with dark rims and it’s bright.
NOSE: In the Ritme stand out red fruit scents, on a spiced and a little toasted bottom, really well assembled
TASTE: The Ritme has a flavorous and pleasant attack, with a good acidity that supplies some freshness, with a ripe and polished tannin, with a velvety and tasty touch, and a long, persistent and flavorous end, where ripe fruit and light toasted scents are shown again.
The Ritme is a Priorat wine, a wine full of flavour, scents, it’s bodied, structured and powerful, but smoothed, gentle and easy to drink, a wine that will pair really good with any meat, powerful sauced food, cured butchery, old cheeses, etc… It is recommended to be served from 14 to 16ºC
